XXL Lag With Single Foot – Manipulation I and II consist of experiences that embody a continuous series of performances that always take place through the manipulation of the variants of the sculpture XXL Lag With Single Foot, which experiments are completely ephemeral and each performance becomes unique and unrepeatable with respect to its initial configuration.

The first action in this series – activated with the participation of Hilda de Paulo – took place as a rehearsal for the rite of passage XXL Lag With Single Foot – Manipulation II, working as a performance for the camera. In the second manipulation, I only relate my body to the object in space, always in the process of composition/decomposition and, at the same time, the destruction of matter and a new construction through its recombination. The performative program of the second manipulation took place in dialogue with an action by the musical composer Lea Petra who, in a parallel setting, composes experimental sounds through the annihilation of the gestures necessary for the classical fulfillment of the music performed through a piano and, thus, in harmony, the two actions enter into a spontaneous dialogue, where the exchange of stimuli is mutual in body, sound and visual rhythms. XXL Lag With Single Foot – Manipulation II is performed as an anniversary rite of passage belonging to the Memento Mori series.

 

Based on the actions and the two documentations, the compilation of both performances into a single video emerged, entitled XXL Lag With Single Foot – Manipulation I and II.
